The Ba***ds Of Bollywood Premiere: Aryan Khan’s much-awaited Netflix debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood, finally dropped today, and it has already become the talk of the town. From its first teaser to the star-studded trailer launch, the show has been at the centre of conversations, especially as Shah Rukh Khan introduced his son to the world at a grand event. Now that the first episode is streaming, social media users have noticed something striking a character that seems to bear an uncanny resemblance to ex-Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede.

In the episode, an officer is shown storming into a rave party. He first encounters a man smoking a joint but lets him go after realising he has no links to Bollywood. Moments later, he spots another man who is simply sipping a drink. When he learns this man belongs to the film industry, he immediately arrests him. The scene quickly went viral online, with fans drawing parallels to Aryan’s arrest. Many felt the portrayal was a subtle reference to Wankhede’s role in Aryan’s real-life ordeal. Meanwhile, one user on X (formerly Twitter) joked, “The Sameer Wankhede cameo in The Ba**ds of Bollywood is too good lol. Iykyk (sic).”* Another pointed out, “Sameer Wankhede in the first episode and he is sounding exactly like him (sic).” A third added with humour, “SAMEER WANKHEDE is gonna have a blast watching this.”

Meanwhile, aryan Khan, along with Ayaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, was arrested by the NCB on October 3, 2021, after the bureau raided a cruise ship. They were accused of possessing, consuming, and dealing banned drugs. In total, 20 people were arrested in the case. Sameer Wankhede, who led the investigation, quickly rose to prominence after Aryan’s arrest. However, the case took a sharp turn when Aryan spent 25 days in jail before being granted bail. By May 2022, all charges against him were dropped. Wankhede himself was removed from the case after facing allegations of blackmail.
