Ashish Kapoor legal troubles have only increased after a Delhi court placed him in two weeks of judicial custody. A woman accused the TV actor of rape at a party, leading to his arrest in Pune last week where he is now facing serious charges. Kapoor will remain in Tis Hazari Jail until further instructions are given because the case has progressed from the initial police interrogation to a prolonged period of custody.

Ashish Kapoor was brought before Link Judicial Magistrate First Class Payal Singhal at the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi on Saturday. He was placed under 14 days of judicial imprisonment by the court following four days of police custody. On September 2, he was taken into custody in Pune following a complaint made by a 24-year-old.

On August 11th, a formal complaint was submitted under the appropriate sections, alleging rape, inflicting harm, and other offenses. The lawsuit states that the woman claimed that her drink was tampered with after being invited to a party in Ashish Kapoor's neighborhood. She stated that she was dragged to a restroom and gang-raped after losing consciousness.

Her initial statement, according to police, listed a number of persons, including the party host and unnamed guys. She also claimed that she was physically assaulted by a woman, and that the incident was captured on camera in order to blackmail her. She later changed her story to claim that she was raped by Kapoor alone. 

"The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he slipped away. He was then traced to Pune, where he was found living with a friend and was arrested on Tuesday, " a senior police official told Hindustan Times.
