Ashish Kapoor Rape Case: Television actor Ashish Kapoor, well known for his roles in shows like Dekha Ek Khwaab and Saraswatichandra, has been arrested by Delhi Police on rape charges after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her during a house party in Delhi last month. According to reports, Kapoor first came in contact with the woman through Instagram before inviting her to a gathering at a friend’s residence in Delhi in the second week of August. It was during this party that the alleged incident took place, leading to the filing of a case against the actor.

Police reportedly confirmed that an FIR was initially registered against Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unidentified men. However, the complainant later revised her statement and said that only Kapoor had raped her. She also claimed that the assault was recorded on video, though no such footage has yet been recovered. In addition, the woman alleged that the wife of Kapoor’s friend assaulted her outside the washroom after the incident. Reports added that it was actually the friend’s wife who made the PCR call to alert police about the situation. “The investigation is ongoing,” the authorities said, adding that Kapoor had been traced across several locations before being arrested in Pune.

Furthermore, the FIR was first reportedly filed on August 11, and charges were updated from gangrape to rape after the woman altered her statement. DCP (North) Raja Banthia reportedly stataed, “Kapoor was traced and detained in Pune on Wednesday, September 3.”
