Like any other season, Salman Khan hosted show Bigg Boss 19 has been making a buzz since its premiere. But to give tough competition, another reality show, Rise & Fall (hosted by Ashneer Grover) has been creating a wave on social media. Despite being streaming for a week, Rise & Fall has surpassed Bigg Boss 19 in the BARC reports for OTT viewership. Rise and Fall garnered 3.8 miilion viewers in the first week itself, while Bigg Boss 19 had an initial 2.4 million viewers.

During the weekend power play round on Rise & Fall, Ashneer Grover told the contestants about the performance of the reality show. He said, “Our sponsors are increasing. This means more money is coming in. More revenue comes while the show is running. We became the number one show last week.” Ashneer credited Pawan Singh for the TRP. In the last week, Bigg Boss 19 recorded a 1.2 TVR and ranked 12th in ratings. On the other hand, Rise & Fall faced challenges on Television as Sony TV is losing the TRP battle to Colors.

Before Rise & Fall premiered, Ashneer Grover took a slight dig at Salman Khan. He told News18, “Reality shows have to be about the contestants. Fortunately or unfortunately, in India, we've had a very big show with a very big superstar. It's become more about him than the contestants. Who's putting in the hours? Bhai, aap to ek weekend mein aa rahe ho. (Brother, you only come on the weekends.) The ones grinding 24/7 are the contestants.”
