Suniel Shetty recently revealed that his daughter Athiya Shetty has left Bollywood. The Hera Pheri actor shared that the time when Athiya came up to her and confessed that she is not interested in doing more movies. For those who are unaware, Athiya was seen in movies like Hero (2015), Mubarakan (2017) and Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019). Suniel Shetty further revealed that his daughter got several films after Motichoor, but she decided to walk away. Here is what Suniel Shetty said. 

In an interview with Zoom, Suniel said, “She said, 'Baba, I don't want to,' and she just left. And that's what I salute her for saying, 'I'm not interested. I don't want to do films.' After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way. 'But I don't want to. I am comfortable, you know?” 

He further added, “And today, she's got the best role of her life. You know, she's working in the best film, and that is the life, the role of a mother and she's loving it.” 

Athiya Shetty made her Bollywood debut with Hero, which was released in 2015. The film also starred Sooraj Pancholi in the lead roles. Despite being launched by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai, both the debutants failed to make a big name onscreen. However, Athiya Shetty’s last movie, Motichoor Chaknachoor opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui, gave her massive fame. Her role was highly appreciated by the audience and the critics despite its box office failure. Since then, she has been missing from the screen. 

Athiya Shetty continued to grab headlines for her personal life as she was dating KL Rahul for quite some time before getting hitched in 2023. The duo tied knot in a private ceremony at Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. The couple welcomed their first child on March 24, this year. While announcing the name of their baby girl, the couple in a joint Instagram post wrote, “Our baby girl, our everything.  Evaarah/ इवारा ~ Gift of God.”
