The Battle of Galwan starring Salman Khan is one of the most anticipated movies of the actor after his appearance in Sikandar. With its casting and storyline, the movie, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, has generated excitement. Following recent news of Chitrangda Singh joining the cast to star opposite Salman, speculations surrounding the film's potential skip of an Eid release have been emerging online. The film is based on real-life events that took place in 2020, when Indian and Chinese troops clashed over Galwan Valley, a disputed region in Ladakh. The makers are considering a different release date instead of Superstar's traditional Eid slot.
Salman Khan's Battle Of Galwan Not To Have Eid Release?
The Battle of Galwan, which is being produced by Salman's production house, was initially said to be an Eid al-Fitr 2026 release. However, according to the latest reports, the actor and director Apoorva Lakhia are not eyeing the March slot; instead, they are looking for a late-May theatrical release, coinciding with Bakri Eid.
As per a source quoted by Mid-Day, "Battle of Galwan is a war film mounted on a big scale. Shooting in the high altitudes of Ladakh is anyway challenging; it will only be compounded by the film’s scale and the elaborate action set-pieces. Eid is mid-March next year. The team doesn’t want to rush the shoot or post-production just to meet that deadline."
The makers have a second option for release in stores. If not in late May next year, then the Independence Day weekend would be their preferred option for a theatrical run.

"Bakri Eid, which falls on May 27 next year, is a realistic option. If the film doesn’t make it in time, the Independence Day weekend is their second choice. The team has already begun informal talks with exhibitors. The window was initially booked by Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla, which is yet to get into production," a source stated.
