Bhumi Pednekar, who made her debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015, broke the stereotype of the conventional look of an actress. At that time, Bhumi gained a weight of around 96 kgs to play the character of Sandhya in the film. Now, years later, the actress had made a drastic transformation both physically and mentally. The star often gets trolled for her different look. Recently, talking about the same, she shared how she deals with the criticism. 

In an interview with The Hindustan Times, Bhumi Pednekar talked about whether she overcame the body image issue. She said, “I feel that doesn’t ever go right. That’s because we have grown up in an environment where we were subjected to different kinds of comments. But you have to learn to love yourself, and that’s a process.”

Bhumi Pednekar believes that her fitness journey is as much about mental clarity like its physical strength. The actress added, “It has taken me a lot of time, and I still have days where I feel heartbroken about things. But the point is that I have a routine that keeps me in check. For me, physical health is also about mental health. It’s just not about how you look externally.”

Bhumi shed light upon how exercise helps her find. The star added, “Every time I am in a workout routine, I tell myself that I’m doing this for my body. I want to live longer. It’s where I get a lot of mental clarity every time I am on a run or walking. That’s the only way you can truly take care of yourself.” She also reacted to the trolls that she has been facing since she entered the industry, earlier due to weight gain and now because of her transformation. Bhumi said, “There was a time when I was 96 kg, and there were opinions then. Now, I look different, and there are opinions now. The point is that I’m in the public eye and it’s okay. I am for the audience. Everything that they say I listen to, but by the end of it, I do what’s right for me.”

Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in the Netflix series, The Royals, opposite Ishaan Khatter. Talking about he upcoming projects, she shared, “There are a lot of things, but they haven’t been announced yet. Next year you will see me onscreen 3 or 4 times.”
