Singer and music composer Amaal Mallik has been making headlines with his participation in the reality show Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan. Not only does his gameplay grab attention, but also the revelations about his family and strained relationship have stirred viewers' interest. In a conversation with fellow contestant Baseer Ali, Amaal opened up about his father Daboo Malik's family, the challenges his mother faced during pregnancy, and the impact of professional rivalry between his father and uncle Anu Malik, which involved a betrayal.
Amaal shared that his grandfather Sardar Mallik's legacy was carried forward by his uncle Anu Malik, but the journey was not smooth for the rest of the family. He recalled how his uncle released his song Moh Moh Ke Dhaage in the same year, when he made his debut with Sooraj Duba Hai.
Discussing the strained relationship between father Daboo Mallik and Anu Malik's relationship, Amaal claimed, "I saw my father in a helpless situation, taking confidence pills after years of letting him (uncle) do whatever he was doing; my dad was called to the studio to record a song. Cut to my father going to a music shop at Yari Road, and the song which my father had recorded was playing in that place in Udit Narayan's voice. When my dad asked the shop owner, he revealed that the song is from a three-year-old movie. So, he (Anu Malik) just called my dad for a mock recording. He just took a three-year-old song, put Udit ji's voice on mute and made Daboo feel that he was giving him a chance."

When Baseer asked the reason behind his uncle’s behaviour, Amaal responded, saying, he has an evil heart. He then recounted a disturbing childhood memory. He was heard saying, "We are two swords of the same empire; no one has a bigger heart than my father. Seeing this, I became a warrior. In 2005, when it rained in Mumbai on 26th July. Pura Juhu jaam rehta hai and I must be 7 years old, it is a low-line area. This family saw me outside the gate, struggling, crying and the water was till my chest. Their car was parked in front of me and I saw them locking the doors of their car. They left me, just deserted me, there were manholes on the roads. My father's friend's wife saw me, took inside her car and dropped me home."
Amaal added, "When I was standing, I was waving my hand and I saw my aunt, driver and them inside. They saw me and pressed the door lock. When I returned home and shared the incident, bawaal hogaya ghar par. That's why I'm an aggressive kid. People say, 'I abuse a lot', I have a womb trauma boss."
He further shared about his mother's struggles during pregnancy. The singer stated, “Meri mom ko bahut kuch sunaya gaya when she was pregnant with me, they used to make her work a lot as she was living in a joint family. One day, she just smashed her hand on a cupboard in anger. She went through all this to make us reach where we are today."
