Bigg Boss 19's family week recently saw the appearance of Ashnoor Kaur's father, Gurmeet Singh. His arrival left his daughter emotional and other housemates tense as he confronted those who had made remarks about Ashnoor. The most-talked-about comment was regarding her body weight. Tanya Mittal was one of the contestants who body-shamed Ashnoor and was even called out for her action by the host Salman Khan during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode. When Ashnoor's dad entered the BB19 house, Tanya was seen repeatedly apologising to him for her remarks. Amid this, videos from the episode went viral with different claims and narratives, as revealed by Gurmeet Singh. Ashnoor's father addressed the controversy over Tanya's body-shaming remarks and debunked the clips, claiming that he asked his daughter to take advantage of the situation.

Taking to Instagram story, Gurmeet Singh posted a lengthy note after his exit from the BB19 house during family week. His note read, "After yesterday's episode, I've seen a few videos indicating that I told Ashnoor to "take advantage" of the body-shaming remarks made by Tanya. I want to clear these misconceptions right now because it is not true. My words have been taken totally out of context. When Ashnoor asked me about forgiving Tanya, the conversation had nothing to do with body-shaming. It was a light, fun moment- most of which wasn't even shown in the episode. Because of the edit, a different meaning is being attached to what I said, and that's unfair to everyone involved."

Ashnoor's dad stated, "And when I cooked food in the house, it was genuinely heartwarming to see every contestant sitting together at one table. That moment alone shows how beautiful the vibe was and how wonderful my bond is with everyone inside. There was no negativity- only good energy and respect."

He even requested people not to believe the clipped footage that is going viral online. "So I sincerely request all of you not to fall for clipped, out-of-context narratives. I went into the house only to uplift Ashnoor, not to bring anyone down. I cherish every memory I made with each contestant, whether aired or not, and I left on a very positive note. I wish every contestant nothing but the very best," Gurmeet added.
