Bigg Boss 19: Bigg Boss 19 saw a heated moment in the nomination task after contestant Farhana Bhatt took a dig at Ashnoor Kaur’s television background. The remark sparked debate on social media, drawing a strong reaction from actress Hina Khan, who openly defended television actors before later deleting her posts. During the nomination task, contestants had to compete in pairs to save themselves. It was here that Farhana targeted Ashnoor, suggesting that her experience was limited to TV serials. Farhana said, “Experience aapka reh chuka hai serials mein. Maine kabhi TV serials main kaam nahi kiya as I was not interested. Aapko pata hoga I have done movies. Aapki age kya hai 21? You still have a lot to learn. You should have seen a lot of things before coming to Bigg Boss house. It feels you have come too early in the show.”

Meanwhile, Farhana Bhatt’s comments were seen as belittling the television industry, and fans quickly pointed out that Ashnoor, despite being just 21, has a long list of successful shows to her credit. Hina Khan, who is one of television’s biggest names and a former Bigg Boss 11 runner-up, could not remain silent. She took to X (formerly Twitter) and defended Ashnoor as well as the entire television fraternity. In her now-deleted tweets, Hina strongly criticised Farrhana’s remarks. She wrote, “Is the biggest reality show of Indian television premiered/telecasted in INOX? Mere hisaab se to television pe hi aata hai. Haina? Well, hamaare television ka dil hi itna bada hai ki koi bhi wannabe star bann jaata hai. Alhamdulillah for that. Don’t get me started.”

On the other hand, in another post, Hina added, “We prefer good, NOTABLE work in any medium, and we respect all mediums equally. Television pe aake, khud ko film actor keh kar bada bataana… jo ki ek well-established, notable actor of any medium kabhi nahi karega. Khaali bartano se sirf shor aata hai.” Finally, she sent a clear warning, tweeting, “With all due respect to each and everyone, do well in the show… but do not dare disrespect television. Period.”

Interestingly, Hina later deleted her tweets, but screenshots went viral and continued to be widely shared by fans. Furthermore Hina wrote, “With all due respect to each and everyone, do well in the show. Bohot achaa karo. Bohot bade star bano, kill it. Best wishes but do not dare disrespect television period.”

Meanwhile, Hina’s response carried weight because she herself built her career on television, rising to fame with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Having transitioned into films and OTT projects, she understands the struggle and contribution of TV actors. Her defence of Ashnoor was also personal, as Ashnoor once played her on-screen daughter in the popular serial. While Farrhana’s comment was made inside the Bigg Boss house, it sparked a larger debate about how television work is perceived compared to films.
