BTS Jimin’s VMAs Snub: The MTV VMAs 2025 created a buzz after a grand night on September 7 at the UBS Arena in New York, as a few Kpop idols took home big wins. BLACKPINK’s Lisa made history by bagging the Best Kpop award for her single Born Again, featuring Doja Cat and RAYE. Other nominees in the Kpop category included aespa for Whiplash, Jennie for 'Like Jennie', BTS Jimin for Who. While Lisa’s fans are celebrating this big win, Jimin's fans sparked a debate over what really counts as Kpop in 2025 and who truly deserved this award.

Lisa’s Born Again from her debut album Alter Ego faced major competition in this year’s Best Kpop category at VMAs. Alongside BTS’s Jimin, the nominees included BLACKPINK’s Jisoo with her hit track Earthquake, Jennie’s Like Jennie, Rose’s Toxic Till the End, Stray Kids with their track Chk Chk Boom, and Aespa’s Whiplash, the biggest award night show nominations in the Kpop world.
