Choreographer Dhanashree Verma's separation from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the most controversial topics of the year. Following the divorce, she has faced harsh trolling, with many labelling her a 'gold digger'. Dhanashree, who is currently on Ashneer Grover's reality show Rise And Fall, opened up about her marriage and how she has maintained her calm despite facing disrespect. She also clapped back at trolls during a recent task on the show.

During a discussion with Rise And Fall's fellow contestants, Dhanashreeopened up about her journey after the divorce, stating that she has many things to say but respect has always been important to her. In the video from the show, Dhanashree was heard saying, "When you are in marriage, then you are responsible ki dusre person ka bhi respect aapke haath mein hota hai. Chah kar main bhi disrespect kar sakti thi. You think I don’t have things to say as a woman, but he was my husband. I respected even when I was married and I have to respect it now that I was married to him."

In one of the promos of Rise And Fall, she also hit back at trolls with a savage reply. During the task, contestants were asked to choose between a gold bag worth Rs 2 lakh and a silver bag worth Rs 1 lakh. Dhanashree was paired with actor Arjun Bijlani. The actor said, “Dekho mujhe diamond, silver thoda suit nahi karta. Mujhe gold suit karta hai." In response, Dhanashree came up with a witty response in reference to the online hate she received after her divorce from Chahal.

She stated, "Yeh line toh main bol nahi sakti. Agar maine yeh line bol di toh jo mujhe pyaar milne vala hoga vo bhi nahi milega."

Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal got married in December 2020 after meeting during the COVID-19 lockdown. However, things didn't work out between the two. The couple filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025 and were officially granted a divorce in March.

Talking about Rise and Fall, the show is hosted by Ashneer Grover, who is known for his wit. The house is split between Workers and Rulers, featuring contestants Arjun Bijlani, Kubbra Sait, Sangeeta Phogat, Anaya Bangar, Aarush Bhola, Akriti Negi and Noorin Sha as Workers, while Kiku Sharda, Dhanashree Verma, Aditya Narayan, Aahana Kumra, Bali, Nayandeep Rakshit, Arbaz Patel, and Pawan Singh hold the throne as Rulers.
