BTS members RM and V completed their required military service today, June 10, while ARMY celebrated. Jin and Jhope returned to civilian life in 2024, making them the first and second bandmates to do so. Now, Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyung (V) told reporters in a brief interview after their release that they will be on stage again soon. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the OT7 reunion, with Jungkook and Jimin scheduled to receive their military discharge on June 11, followed by Suga this month.

BTS RM surprised the ARMY who were waiting by playing the saxophone, an instrument he had been practising while serving. BTS V arrived a short while later, and the two gave each other a heartfelt embrace. Their smiles and joy for one another were a sight to behold after being off the stage for eighteen long months. Kim Taehyung also flaunted his TaTa Mic face and fans went gaga over it on social media. The pictures and videos of the duo went viral as they walked in style.

For the unversed, BTS RM was with the 15th Infantry Division's military band in Hwacheon, while V was assigned to the 2nd Corps Military Police's Special Duty Team (SDT) in Chuncheon. They were welcomed with thunderous applause from their fellow soldiers.

ARMYs have spent weeks getting ready to welcome back their favourite idols by decorating Seoul with banners, posters, and social media trends, as well as transforming the whole city into a purple paradise. One of the many users wrote, "TAEHYUNG RETURNS TODAY, RM IS FINALLY BACK. WELCOME BACK TAEHYUNG, WELCOME BACK NAMJOON. BTS IS BACK." Another user wrote, "The whole universe is welcoming our home back!!!" The third user wrote, "OMG I'M IN TEARS. THE WAY THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER."

BTS ARMYs enthusiastically greeted the RM and V back from service and celebrated the occasion by releasing joyful balloons during the ceremony.

Even though there were no live festivities, social media was ablaze with worldwide trending hashtags like #WelcomeBackNamjoon and #WelcomeBackTaehyung. On Weverse, Instagram, and X (previously Twitter), fans posted personal remarks, artwork, and video edits.

About BTS Military Discharge

Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and RM all enlisted at roughly the same periods (Jimin and Jungkook enlisted simultaneously, while RM and V enlisted separately through separate processes). Suga will be out by the end of the month, while Jimin and Jungkook will be out tomorrow. Suga will be the final member of BTS to return from service after being assigned to alternative service, which usually entails a longer time.

BTS will celebrate its anniversary with the '2025 BTS Festa at KINTEX in Goyang on June 13. Even while there is a lot of fan excitement, the agency has not revealed if every member will be in attendance. The joyous atmosphere will be enhanced by JHope's solo encore performance at Goyang Stadium.
