Global Kpop sensation BTS is reportedly working on a special musical tribute to Michael Jackson. The seven-member group, currently recording new songs for their much-awaited comeback album, may be part of a tribute project involving unreleased music from the late pop legend. According to reports, BTS visited Grouse Lodge Studios in Ireland last year to re-record a song originally written for Michael Jackson. The track was part of an unfinished album that Jackson had begun working on in 2006 during his stay at the same studio. Sadly, he passed away in 2009 before the album could be completed.
Meanwhile, Paddy Dunning, the owner of Grouse Lodge, confirmed the collaboration to The Irish Sun. He shared, “The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.” Dunning also revealed that around 10 songs written specifically for Jackson in Ireland with input from music producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew will be featured in the tribute album.

Alongside the album, a documentary is also in the works to capture Jackson’s time in Ireland. It will include stories from locals and musicians who worked with him. “Michael’s estate told me to plough ahead with this because they see it as a tribute to Michael,” Paddy said.
On the other hand, Paddy recently met Jackson’s eldest son, Prince, who fondly recalled their family’s time at Grouse Lodge. Prince shared that he and his siblings, Paris and Blanket hope to revisit Ireland in the future. Interestingly, the unreleased songs were found in a storage unit in California, once owned by Bryan Loren, a former Jackson collaborator. These tracks were recorded between 1989 and 1991.

Fans Reaction
Furthermore, this has taken the internet by storm. One fan tweeted, “Michael would be so proud of BTS if he were alive.” Another added, “This is the most iconic crossover since moonwalk met mic drop.” Many praised BTS’s earlier tribute to Jackson with their hit song Dynamite.
It was destined to happen. It was in the books.
