Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Collection Day 17: At the box office, Rajinikanth’s Coolie is roaring ahead while Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War Two struggles to keep pace. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie has already stormed past the five-hundred-crore mark worldwide, reaffirming Rajinikanth’s unmatched box office dominance. By contrast, Ayan Mukerji’s War Two, despite its staggering production budget, has yet to recover costs. Seventeen days in, it has amassed just over two-hundred-and-forty crore net in India, far below expectations. While Coolie cements itself as a blockbuster, War Two risks being remembered as a costly misfire despite its star-studded cast.

Rajinikanth Tamil movie’s day sixteen earnings were much lower at Rs 1.7 crore, which included contributions from Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada versions. According to a report in Sacnilk, Coolie earned around Rs 2.65 crore in India on the day, taking its domestic total to nearly Rs 276 crore. But the weekend revival has given the film a significant push. Over the second weekend, Coolie collected an impressive Rs 41.85 crore, showing that audience interest remains high. Out of this, Tamil alone contributed Rs 24.2 crore, Hindi added 9.4 crore, Telugu fetched Rs 7.55 crore, and Kannada brought in Rs 70 lakh.
Meawhile, at the worldwide level, Coolie has achieved yet another milestone. The Rajinikanth-starrer has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark globally, making it one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. Its overseas collection has been estimated at Rs 176.5 crore, while the gross Indian total stands at Rs 323.75 crore. This feat highlights Rajinikanth’s unmatched box office pull, particularly when combined with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s proven track record of hits like Kaithi, Master, Leo, and Vikram. The film also recorded healthy occupancy levels on Saturday, with Tamil shows averaging 23.68%. Evening and night shows saw the highest turnout, crossing 25% and even touching over 31% at night. The Hindi belt showed relatively lower occupancy at 14.31%, though there was a visible rise in night shows.

War 2 Box Office Collection
On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s highly anticipated spy thriller War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji under YRF, is struggling to match expectations. Despite being mounted on a massive budget of Rs 325 crore, the film has only managed to collect Rs 240.81 crore net in India after seventeen days. On day seventeen, it earned just Rs 1.26 crore, a modest jump from the previous day’s 71 lakh. While it has overtaken the lifetime earnings of Hrithik’s Krrish 3 and Simmba, it is still far from breakeven. While Coolie is roaring ahead and cementing its place as a blockbuster with over Rs 500 crore worldwide, War 2 is finding it tough to recover its costs and may eventually end up as a commercial disappointment despite its star power.
