Siddhant Chaturvedi is a popular young actor who has amassed a decent fan following over the years. He made his acting debut with the sitcom Life Sahi Hai. But gained fame from his Amazon Prime Video web series Inside Edge, where he played a teenage cricketer Prashant Kanaujia. The young actor rose to fame with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy as MC Sher, a street rapper. But his journey in Bollywood could have started earlier if he had cracked the audition for Laila Majnu.
Siddhant Chaturvedi recently talked about being rejected for Triptii Dimri starrer Laila Majnu. During an interview with Just Too Filmy, the actor recalled how he was shortlisted for Laila Majnu, but eventually got rejected. "I was shortlisted for Laila Majnu, and I was 22 at that point in time. (I came) very close. The thing is, the guy had to be older than the girl. I didn't know who was going to be playing the girl. It was my audition round days. I auditioned, but they felt I was a little too young,” he said.
He further revealed that in order to crack his audition, he grew his beard to look older. He said, “I grew my beard. My brother shot me in his new camera, and I made a profile that I sent them. Obviously, it didn't work out.” Eventually, the movie went to Avinash Tiwary as he beautifully portrayed the role of Qais opposite Triptii Dimri.

Siddhant Chaturvedi also shared that after the release of the film, he specially went to watch it, in order to figure out what he was missing out. He also stated that Triptii Dimri’s performance was extremely impressive.

Currently, Siddhant Chaturvedi is gearing up for the release of his next movie Dhadak 2. He will finally share the screen with Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, the movie is all set to hit the thetres on August 1, 2025.
