Dhadak 2 Release Date: The highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak, which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, is finally set to hit theatres soon. Collaborating for the first time, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri will headline Dhadak 2. The romantic drama will feature an action-packed battle for love amid societal expectations and class barriers. The film is backed by Karan Johar under his banner, Dharma Productions. On Monday, the makers unveiled the first-look poster along with the official release date.

Dhadak 2 Release Date Locked

Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and posted Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's first look from the movie. His post read, "Choose one between die and fight... So fight.#Dhadak2 Coming to all cinemas - 1st August 2025." The posters show two different sides, in one Siddhant is seen in intense mode hugging his lady love to protect her from danger while in another one Triptii can be seen hugging the man she loves while they fight the world for their love.

The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on November 22, 2024, but faced delays over certification issues. The film has reportedly received a U/A certificate from CBFC, and soon the makers announced the release date.

As per The Hindu report, the makers of Dhadak 2 were asked to make 16 specific modifications. Changes like rephrasing a dialogue with a political reference. Editing was asked to avoid associations with public figures.

In addition to that, the CBFC asked for cuts on multiple caste-based terms and religious references. The approval was granted by the board after all the conditions were met.

More About Dhadak 2: The movie is being helmed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh. The movie explores themes like class divides, social challenges, and the fight for love. The sequel is touted to be a new and fresh story unlike its original movie, which was a remake of the Marathi film Sairat.
