Dharmendra Funeral Rituals: Veteran Bollywood star Dharmendra’s ashes were immersed in the River Ganga in Haridwar on Wednesday morning, following complete Vedic rituals. His sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, along with other close family members, were present during the ceremony. The immersion itself was performed by Sunny Deol’s son, Karan Deol, who carried out the final rites with the guidance of priests. Sunny and Bobby Deol, along with other members of the family, arrived in Haridwar on Tuesday with Dharmendra’s ashes.

According to reports, the Deol family reached the Pilibhit House ghat in Haridwar’s Shravan Nath Nagar area at around 11 a.m. Priests conducted the ceremony according to Hindu traditions, after which Dharmendra’s ashes were respectfully immersed in the sacred Ganga. Security was tight throughout the event, and the family left for the airport shortly after completing the rituals. The entire programme was carried out peacefully and with dignity.

Who Inherited Dharmendra's Ancestral Property?

Dharmendra had strong ties to his ancestral village Dango in Ludhiana district, where he spent the first three years of his life. The modest mud-and-brick house, now worth crores, still stands as a reminder of his humble beginnings. He wrote his will around eight to ten years ago, deciding to leave the ancestral property, spanning nearly 2.5 acres, to his uncle’s children. Family members say this gesture came from a sense of responsibility and deep emotional connection rather than financial considerations. The property is estimated to be worth around Rs 5 crore, although Dharmendra reportedly never cared about its monetary value.
