Dharmendra's death on November 24 sparked a wave of grief throughout the Indian cinema industry and among generations of fans around the world. While his cinematic path brought him far from the peaceful villages of Punjab, Dharmendra never forgot the place and heritage that influenced his childhood. In a shocking turn of events, the actor didn't leave his ancestral land to any of his offspring, including Sunny, Bobby, Ajeita, Vijeta, Esha, or Ahana Deol. Instead, he chose to give it away to another individual entirely; can you guess who?
Dharmendra had ancestral ties to Dango, in Ludhiana district, where he spent the first three formative years of his childhood. The basic mud-and-brick cottage in the village, now worth crores, remains a reminder of his humble beginnings. Even as he grew up in the bustling cities and achieved extraordinary success in the film industry, his emotional connection to the land remained unshaken.
Who Inherited Dharmendra's Ancestral Property?
Dharmendra had written his will roughly eight to ten years ago, well before his health began to deteriorate. The property, which spans approximately 2.5 acres, was left to his uncle's children, his nephews, in honour of a link fostered in him by his father. His judgment about the ancestral home was motivated by familial responsibility rather than material reasons.
