Dhurandhar 2 Updates: Akshaye Khanna made audiences go gaga over his portrayal of Pakistani gangster Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar. Fans were left disappointed after the main lead Ranveer Singh's character Hamza Ali Mazari killed Rehman in the first part. However, the latest reports suggest that he will return in Dhurandhar 2. This has sparked curiosity, with many wondering how it is even possible. Director Aditya Dhar is reportedly planning major twists in the sequel. Is Akshaye Khanna Making A Comeback In Dhurandhar 2?

Dhurandhar 2 is expected to feature the return of Akshaye Khanna, as the makers plan to reveal his backstory in the sequel. 

According to a source quoted by Filmfare, "Our sources confirm that Akshaye Khanna will return to sets for a short one-week shoot, aimed at expanding his character’s backstory and adding more layers to his role in the next chapter of the franchise."

In Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna played a Pakistani gangster and leader of the Baloch gang, Rehman Dakait. He transitions into politics using his strong following and influence in Lyari. The movie shows his conflict with Sanjay Dutt's character SP Chaudhary Aslam. His trusted gang member, Hamza, an Indian spy agent, kills him in the climax to take control of Karachi. Beyond his acting prowess, Akshaye's impromptu dance to Flipperachi’s Fa9La went viral on social media, earning widespread praise from fans and contributing to increased footfall in theatres following the film's release on December 5.

After Rehman's death scene in the first part, fans began expressing their hopes to see Akshaye make an appearance in the sequel. It now seems like the makers may have taken note of this demands. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made.

When Will Dhurandhar 2 Hit Theatres?

Directed by Aditya Dhar and backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar 2 promises to scale up with a new chapter and even more cinematic spectacle, shaping up to be one of the most anticipated action films of the year. Scheduled for release on March 19, the Ranveer Singh starrer will clash with Yash’s Toxic and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit at the box office. Dhurandhar's sequel will be available in theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, marking it a Pan-India release and global rollout.
