Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 7: Did Ranveer Singh-Akshaye Khanna’s Spy Thriller Manage To Outperform Ranbir Kapoor-Bobby Deol’s Animal?

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 7: Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s latest release, Dhurandhar, is showing exceptional strength at the Indian box office. Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has naturally been compared to Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which hit cinemas during the same week in 2023. Although both films belong to different genres and cater to different types of audiences, they share a few similarities including long runtimes, intense and sometimes gory action sequences, and a strong, testosterone-driven style of storytelling. Interestingly, Dhurandhar was even marketed early on as ‘Ranveer Singh’s Animal’, making the comparison even more unavoidable, especially since Ranveer and Ranbir are often viewed as professional rivals.

According to Sacnilk, the spy action thriller earned Rs 103 crore over its opening weekend, and what makes its performance even more impressive is how well it has held through the weekdays. In fact, the film’s daily numbers from Tuesday to Thursday have remained steady at around Rs 27 crore each. With this consistent momentum, Dhurandhar has reached a strong total of Rs 207.25 crore by the end of Thursday. Looking at its trend, trade experts believe the film is set to comfortably cross the Rs300 crore mark during its second weekend, which wraps up on December 14.

Box Office Performance: Dhurandhar vs Animal

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar opened with Rs 24.50 crore on Day 1 which was less than half of Animal’s massive Rs 51.50 crore debut. However, Dhurandhar showed a sharper day-to-day rise. On Day 2, it recorded a 15% increase and collected Rs 28.50 crore, doing better in trend than Animal, which managed an 8% jump and earned Rs 56 crore. Day 3 saw an even stronger leap for Dhurandhar, with a remarkable 38% rise to Rs 37 crore. In comparison, Animal grew by around 9% on its third day, collecting Rs 61 crore. On the seventh day, Dhurandhar collected Rs 27 crore while Animal minted Rs 24.23 crore. By the end of the first week, Dhurandhar had made Rs 207.25 crore net in India, while Animal finished at a far bigger Rs 337.58 crore. While Dhurandhar has shown excellent growth through the weekend, Animal benefitted from a much larger opening and went on to cross Rs 500 crore in India. It remains to be seen how close Dhurandhar will come to matching such a milestone in the weeks ahead.
