After Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar premiered on Netflix last week, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a reference to multiple vans assigned to Hamza, the character played by Ranveer Singh, in the film’s end credits. The detail quickly sparked online speculation, with some social media users questioning whether the actor had demanded multiple vanity vans during the shoot, triggering a wave of backlash. However, a recent clarification has now put those rumours to rest.
The debate began after a Reddit user shared a screenshot of the end credits, pointing out three vans listed under Hamza’s name—one seemingly for the actor, one for his staff, and another mentioned as a regular van. This fuelled discussions around production costs and alleged star demands.
Addressing the speculation, a report by HT clarified that the 'vans' mentioned in the credits were not vanity vans, but standard vehicles used during the Bangkok schedule of the film.
The portal noted, "The portal quoted a source saying, “These were Thai vans being referred to in the end credits from Dhurandhar’s Bangkok shoot, which had a long shooting schedule. One vanity and two cars (Thai vans) were deployed for the actor, staff, luggage, etc., to travel around the locations."
"Even now, with the teaser, you see two characters and a drastic transformation of Ranveer. He sometimes shed 15 kgs and gained 25 kgs within months or days and shot for 12–14 hours a day. In general, with actors, sometimes for drastic body transformations, a gym or private chef or both on sets are required for the magic to happen within production timelines," added the source.
