Farah Khan has denied rumours of a rift with Deepika Padukone, dismissing speculations about a fallout between them. The rumours surfaced after it was reported that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram, with some attributing it to Farah's comments on Deepika's demand for an 8-hour work shift on set. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the choreographer revealed that they never followed each other on the photo-blogging site as the actress does not like it.
Farah said, "To begin with we were not following each other earlier too. We had made a pact during Happy New Year shoot that we don’t communicate on Instagram, instead direct message and call. We don’t even wish birthday wishes on Insta because Deepika doesn’t like it. Also, my 8 hour comment wasn’t a dig it was to make Dilip say that he will now also work 8 hours when he actually works just for 2 hours."
Farah Khan also noted that she was one of the first few people to visit Deepika Padukone to see her after Dua was born. "This new trend of making anything into a fake controversy has to stop. Last week it was that Karan (Johar) and I ignored Aayush (Sharma) on the red carpet, when in reality we had just met him down before coming up," she said.

According to Farah, when issues arise, she prefers to clear the air directly with the person involved rather than letting rumours and speculation take over. In her opinion, such direct communication can prevent genuine problems from developing between people. Farah emphasized the importance of resolving issues amicably and promptly, suggesting that people should avoid letting misunderstandings fester. This approach, she believes, can help maintain healthy relationships, which is likely why she has maintained a long-standing professional and personal connection with Deepika Padukone, whom she has known for years.
Deepika made her Bollywood debut in Farah's film Om Shanti Om in 2007, marking the beginning of their association. Despite the recent rumors, Farah's comments suggest that she values direct communication and problem-solving in her relationships.
