Actor Vicky Kaushal and director Amar Kaushik are all set to collaborate for the upcoming film Mahavatar. The movie draws inspiration from Indian mythology, bringing to life the story of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the seven immortal figures in Hindu lore. The role of Parashurama will be played by Vicky. Amid the buzz, recent reports surfaced online claiming that Vicky and Amar Kaushik had decided to quit non-vegetarian food and alcohol as part of their preparation. The director has now dismissed such rumours and urged people to believe only the official updates from the film’s team.
In an interview with Filmygyan, Amar Kaushik addressed the viral claims about his upcoming movie Mahavatar, especially rumours of him and Vicky Kaushal quitting non-veg and alcohol. He said, "Again, I’m saying the same thing. Where do such rumours even come from? Please, stop it. Only believe it when we officially say so."
Rumours Of Vicky Kaushal Quitting Non-Veg For Mahavatar
Recently, a report by Bollywood Hungama quoted sources claiming that, "A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo (Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik) have decided to give it their all to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema-going audience. They have decided to quit non-veg food, and will start their prep for the film with a grand pooja ceremony towards the middle of next year." The report quickly went viral.

The source further stated, "While Amar has already given up on the food habits, Vicky has decided to do so once the shoot for Love And War is wrapped up. It’s his way of showing respect to the part of Lord Parashurama."
This is not the first time actors have been surrounded by such rumours while working on mythologically based films. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor shared that he had made significant changes in his lifestyle for his role as Lord Ram in the upcoming film Ramayana.
Earlier, Amar Kaushik opened up about what inspired him to explore different genres beyond horror comedies like the Stree franchise and Bhediya. He told ETimes, "I’ve always wanted to explore different genres, and mythology is something that has fascinated me since childhood. My mother used to tell me mythological stories, and I would imagine how those events might have unfolded. Now that I’m in the film industry, and fortunately, some of my films have been successful, I have the support of my producers. I’ve learned a lot about VFX and storytelling, and this project feels like both a responsibility and a challenge. I think I work best when faced with a challenge."
