Diljit Dosanjh Controversy: Diljit Dosanjh and his movie Sardaar Ji 3 have been in the news since the trailer release. The casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has ignited a heated debate online following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which led to a ban on Pakistani artistes in India. Diljit's collaboration with Hania has left his fans disappointed and he has been called out for this decision. Amidst this row, Diljit has finally broken his silence on the backlash the film has been receiving for casting Pakistani actors.

Diljit Dosanjh Reacts To Sardar Ji 3 Controversy

Makers of Sardar Ji 3 has decided to release the movie overseas and to skip its run in the Indian theatres on June 27 amid the cross-border tension. Reacting to the film's international release decision, Diljit in an interview with BBC Asian Network said, "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi."

He emphasised the financial loss of removing the entire territory but shared that he supports the producers' release decision.

"They know there will be a loss because you’re removing an entire territory. Even when I signed the film, everything was fine. Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them," the Punjabi singer stated.

Diljit Dosanjh Praises Hania Aamir

On working experience with Hania in the movie, Diljit said, "Very good. She’s very professional. I really respect her work and her privacy. I’m also a very private person myself and I give everyone their space, especially women. To the point hi baat hoti hai zayada kuch nahi."

Hours after the release of the trailer on Sunday, Diljit and the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 have been topic of the discussion. The actor's working decision with Hania amid ongoing tension between Pakistan and India, faced boycott calls and demand to be blacklisted from the film industry by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The association also asked for passport cancellation and revocation of Indian citizenship for those involved in the controversy in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Not only this project, Diljit's upcoming projects have also been under watch and called for a ban in India.
