Drishyam 3, the much-anticipated sequel to 2013 and 2021 Malayalam movies starring Mohanlal, is officially scheduled to begin shooting this October. Director Jeethu Joseph, alongside the production team, made the official announcement with an engaging video, generating buzz among fans of the Malayalam thriller franchise. This also led to speculation about the Hindi remake and its storyline, which was later confirmed by Joseph, putting all doubts to rest. The film is now reportedly being shot simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu.
Jeetu Joseph, according to a report in ETimes, said, "The script of the third film is nearing completion. There have been reports that the Hindi version will have a different story, but that's not true. The Hindi film will also be based on my story. Once I complete my script, it will be shared with the Hindi team, who will then adapt it to suit their setting and make suitable cultural changes."

The director reportedly revealed that there's also growing interest in whether the Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu versions will be filmed simultaneously. It's too early to confirm parallel shoots due to actors' availability, with Mohanlal, Ajay Devgn, and Venkatesh leading the Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu versions, respectively. The team is seriously considering a simultaneous release.

Joseph further added, "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release. So, we have been discussing the prospect of releasing the films simultaneously, not just the Malayalam and Hindi versions, but the Telugu one as well. In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film’s impact in the other languages."
About Drishyam Movie
Drishyam 2013 showed how Mohanlal’s character Georgekutty tried to protect his family after an accidental death in self-defence. The movie was a significant box office success. In the second part, which came out on OTT platform Prime Video in 2021, trouble increases when a new witness comes forward. The movie also featured Esther Anil, Santhi Mayadevi, and Anjali Nair, among others, in supporting roles. The story of the third instalment in the franchise is still being kept a secret.
On the other hand, the Hindi version of the movie, starring Ajay Devgn, was a major success and widely praised by audiences. The 2015 original featured Ajay Devgn alongside Shriya Sharan, Tabu, Ishita Dutta, and Rajat Kapoor in key roles. Akshaye Khanna joined the star-studded cast for the 2022 sequel.
