Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film will hit cinemas worldwide on April 2, 2026, several months ahead of the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn. The announcement has excited fans, as Drishyam is one of Indian cinema’s most successful thriller franchises, known for its gripping storytelling and unexpected twists.
On Wednesday, Mohanlal took to social media to share a special teaser video revealing the film’s release date. Along with the video, the actor wrote, “Years passed. The past didn’t. #Drishyam3 | Worldwide Release | April 2, 2026.” The teaser video includes several familiar objects from the earlier films, such as an old television set, a shovel, a submerged car, a mobile phone, a CCTV camera, and a script. These visuals strongly hint at unresolved secrets from the past, reinforcing the franchise’s central theme. The teaser ends with the official poster of Drishyam 3, featuring Mohanlal as Georgekutty, staring directly at the camera. Behind him stand his on-screen wife Rani George, played by Meena, and their daughters Anju and Anu, portrayed by Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil.

Malayalam Drishyam 3 Storyline
Drishyam 3 continues the story of Georgekutty, a cable TV operator who has spent years protecting his family from the law after a shocking crime. The third instalment explores the consequences of his past decisions and how long a secret can truly stay buried. Speaking about the storyline, director Jeethu Joseph said, “The film focuses on what happens in Georgekutty's life after four-and-a-half years. That is the crux of the story.” Producer Antony Perumbavoor also spoke about why the team decided to make a third part. He stated, “The phenomenal response to the first two parts convinced us that Georgekutty's journey had more to tell. Only after detailed talks with Jeethu did we finalise this new version.”

Drishyam 3 Hindi Remake Release Date
While the Malayalam version arrives in April, the Hindi adaptation of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, is scheduled to release much later on October 2, 2026. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the Hindi film also stars Shriya Saran and Tabu.
