Fans of the 2007 cult classic Awarapan have been buzzing with excitement following the recent news that filming for the sequel has officially begun. While the original movie was helmed by Mohit Suri, Awarapan 2 will be directed by Nitin Kakkar, who previously directed films like Jawaani Jaaneman. The second instalment of the movie will feature Emraan Hashmi who will reprise his iconic role as Shivam Pandit. Reportedly, actress Disha Patani will join him as his lead actress. With such craze around the movie, fans have been eagerly anticipating the next chapter of this intense romantic saga.
It seems there is some good news for Emraan Hashmi’s fans. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the shoot for Awarapan 2 is ready to start this week in Bangkok. “Awarapan 2 is set to go on floors this week in Bangkok with the two leads, Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani. The duo, along with the ensemble, will be stationed in Bangkok for a month. It’s a marathon schedule where over 50 percent of the film will be shot,” a source claimed in the reports. It further revealed that the makers are planning to shoot at all the real locations.

The source further claimed that the makers have been planning to make the music album on a grand level and shared, “Music is an important part of the Awarapan franchise, and the sequel won’t disappoint the fans. After the 30-day schedule in Bangkok, the team will reunite for another leg in Mumbai. The idea is to call it a wrap on the film by January 2026. The entire shoot has been designed to meet all deadlines for release. The makers have announced a lucrative holiday release, and they will be sticking to the date of arrival at this point in time. Emraan Hashmi is excited to return as Shivam, whereas Disha is looking forward to entering the world of this intense romantic saga."

In a moment of symbolic narration, he declared, "To die for someone else’s life is my destiny," as he released a bird from its cage. Reportedly, the film is scheduled for release on April 3, 2026.
