'Essence Of Who He Is-That's Still The Same': Tabu On Working With Akshay Kumar Again In Bhooth Bangla

Tabu and Akshay Kumar, who have worked in films like Tu Chor Main Sipahi and Hera Pheri, are reuniting 25 years later for filmmaker Priyadarshan's horror comedy film Bhooth Bangla. Their on-screen chemistry has always impressed fans who are excited for the much-awaited reunion. Tabu recently opened up about working with Akshay again and how his humour, energy and essence remain unchanged over the years. Tabu also shared her feelings about reuniting with Priyadarshan after Hera Pheri.

Tabu On Working Again With Akshay Kumar In Bhooth Bangla

Tabu recalled her first day on the Bhooth Bangla set. She told ETimes, “I didn’t know what to expect. I hadn’t worked with Akshay after Hera Pheri, and we hadn’t even met socially very often over the years. I had stayed in touch with Priyan, so I knew he would be exactly the same person.” She further revealed that Priyadarshan is still as “impatient and vocal about what he feels".

Speaking about Akshay, Tabu added, “His humour and energy are the same. He still wakes up at 4 am, finishes early, and heads home, which is a very good thing for the rest of us. He always says, ‘jaldi sona chahiye,’ and reminds everyone he doesn’t go to parties. That part of him hasn’t changed at all. Of course, we’ve all grown up now, but the essence of who he is – that’s still the same."

About Bhooth Bangla: Tabu's involvment in the project was officially announced in January this year. A photo of her hugging Akshay on the Bhooth Bangla set was shared on Instagram by the makers with the caption, "Some things get better and iconic with time! @priyadarshan.official , @akshaykumar and @tabutiful are back in action after 25 years for #BhoothBangla in Jaipur."

The film promises to delves into the haunted house genre with an intense drama and a comedic twist. Apart from Tabu and Akshay, the film also stars Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. Backed by Ektaa Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Bhooth Bangla is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali.
