Gustaakh Ishq Box Office Collection Day 5: Is Dhanush-Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishk Mein Slowing Down Vijay Varma-Fatima Sana’s Romantic Saga?

Gustaakh Ishq Box Office Collection Day 5: Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s romantic saga Gustaakh Ishq hit theatres on November 28, 2025. The film also marks the directorial debut of celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who has stepped into filmmaking with a story rooted in emotion, poetry and old-world charm. Viewers described Gustaakh Ishq as a timeless love story made for the big screen. Despite positive word-of-mouth, the movie is currently facing a strong box office clash with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer Tere Ishk Mein. 

According to Sacnilk, Gustaakh Ishq has minted Rs 50 lakh on its opening day. The film saw a huge drop on its first Monday, collecting Rs 0.07 crore. On its first Tuesday, the movie minted Rs 0.11 crore. This brings in a total collection of Rs 1.48 crore within five days. The film had an overall 9.45 per cent Hindi occupancy on Tuesday. It had 5.02 per cent in the morning shows, 8.46 per cent in the afternoon shows, 10.28 per cent in the evening shows and 14.02 per cent in the night shows. The movie is struggling at the box office to make a mark as it faces tough competition with Dhanush and Kriti Sanon starrer Tere Ishk Mein which was also released yesterday and minted Rs 10.25 crore on its first Tuesday.

Gustaakh Ishq Cast And Crew

The romance drama features Vijay Varma as the protagonist, Nawabuddin Saifuddin Rahman, and Fatima Sana Shaikh as Minni, a teacher and the daughter of a retired poet. Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of the poet, Aziz, also known as Babba, and Sharib Hashmi appears as Attachie. Directed and written by Vibhu Puri, with Prasshant Jha co-writing, the film is produced by Manish Malhotra and Dinesh Malhotra.

Gustaakh Ishq Plot

The plot centers on Rahman, who is striving to save his father’s printing press in Old Delhi. His journey leads him to become a disciple of Aziz. As Rahman spends time with Aziz’s family, he falls in love with Minni. The core conflict of the story lies in Rahman's emotional struggle as he is torn between his love for Minni and his deep loyalty to his mentor, exploring themes of honour, sacrifice, and the enduring nature of old-school romance.

Gustakh Ishq OTT Release

According to a report in OTT Play, Gustaakh Ishq is expected to arrive on JioHostar after its theatrical run. The film is likely to stream online sometime between late December 2025 and late January 2026.
