Homebound:  Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Hindi language drama movie premiered at the Cannes’ Un Certain Regard category on May 21. After the premiere, Homebound received a 9-minute standing ovation. Which indeed brought a proud moment for the team and the country. The director of the film, Neeraj Ghaywan and producer Karan Johar also attended the event, who got emotional after getting the standing ovation and gave a tight hug to each other. The inside video shared by Dharma Productions after the screening went viral on social media. As the movie achieved a huge milestone even before its theatrical release, here is everything we know about the movie. 

What Is Homebound All About? 

The plot revolves around two childhood friends from a small village in North India. They pursue a job which gives them dignity that they have been longing for very long time. When they inch closer to their aims in life, their bond starts to strain, which creates difficulty between them.  Homebound features Vishal Jethwa as Chandan Kumar, Ishaan Khatter plays the role of Mohammed Shoaib Ali, Janhvi Kapoor portrays as Sudha Bharti, Shalini Vatsa, Tushar Phulke, Harshika Parmar and Pankaj Dubey in significant roles. It has been written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The film has been produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharma Productions. Pratik Shah has done the cinematography of the film and music by Naren Chandavarkar, Benedict Taylor. Homebound has a runtime of 119 minutes. The theatrical release date of the movie is yet to be announced. 

Ishaan Khatter recently shared his gratitude to American filmmaker Martin Scorsese for guiding the film as he turned as the executive producer of the film. The actor took his Instagram account and wrote, “The honour of a lifetime. A dream realised in the most surreal way.
