Aamir Khan and his partner, Gauri Spratt, made a stylish entrance at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025, holding hands and drawing attention on the red carpet. Aamir wore a sleek black velvet bandgala, while Gauri stunned in a blue salwar kameez. This marks a rare public appearance for the pair, who have kept their relationship private.

The 16th edition of IFFM promises to be an exciting celebration of Indian cinema, featuring over 75 films in 31 languages. Aamir Khan, as the chief guest, will participate in various events, including a special screening of his film "Sitaare Zameen Par" and a Q&A session with fans and filmmakers. He will also hoist the Indian flag at Federation Square as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

According to Hindustan Times, Aamir Khan said, "It’s great to be here in Melbourne. I’m elated to be part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It’s a great initiative of cinema that brings people and cultures together."

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025 will conclude with the Australian premiere of Homebound, a drama directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, the film follows the story of two childhood friends from northern India who aspire to become police officers, testing their bond as they navigate ambition and inner conflict.

After its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, "Homebound" is set to leave a lasting impact on Australian audiences. Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange expressed pride in showcasing the film, highlighting Neeraj Ghaywan's storytelling and the stellar performances of the lead actors. Producer Karan Johar also praised the film, calling it a "hauntingly beautiful" portrayal of aspiration, identity, and heartbreak.
