Now, new reports have surfaced online stating that Arijit is taking a temporary break as he plans to make his directorial debut. Is Arijit Singh Making Directorial Debut After Playback Singing Retirement?

According to a source quoted by Hindustan Times, “Arijit is going to be busy with his debut film as a director. He’s been very passionate about it for long and that required his time and efforts. Among the flood of offers, he wouldn’t have been able to do it. He will complete his director duties. This is more like a break for a year or so."

Arijit Singh has already started shooting for his first Hindi directorial film, which is said to be a jungle adventure. The film is reportedly set to star Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter, Shora, while Siddiqui himself is expected to make a special appearance. The upcoming movie is written by Arijit along with his wife, Koel Singh, who also co-produced it.

Through a series of tweets from his private X handle, Arijit shared that he is calling it off. His post read, “Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
