Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for his breakout role as MC Sher in Gully Boy, is all set to return to the big screen with Dhadak 2. The movie, directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions, stars Siddhant alongside Animal actress Triptii Dimri. Dhadak 2 is said to be a spiritual follow-up to Dhadak (2018), which featured Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. The original film was a romantic drama based on the Marathi hit Sairat and explored love across class divides. It became a commercial success and marked Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in Bollywood.

Siddhant Chaturvedi, in a recent interview with Hesha Chimah from Varinder Chawla made headlines when he unintentionally or perhaps intentionally dropped a major hint about a possible crossover between Dhadak 2 and Gully Boy 2. While sharing a funny story about how he found out the name of his upcoming movie, Siddhant revealed that he didn’t know it was called Dhadak 2 until fellow actor Ishaan Khatter mentioned it at a screening.

Meanwhile, the 32 year old recalled, “I signed the film when it didn’t even have a title. We began shooting without knowing it was Dhadak 2. Then I met Ishaan at a screening hosted by Zoya Akhtar, and he said, ‘Oh, so you’re doing Dhadak 2,’ and I was confused because even I didn’t know. He somehow found out before me!”

What started as a light-hearted anecdote quickly became more intriguing. Siddhant teased an “inside joke” between him and Ishaan, suggesting the possibility of a crossover between Dhadak 2 and Gully Boy 2. He compared it to a role reversal, referencing Akshay Kumar’s twisty character in Ajnabee, hinting that Ishaan could potentially be entering the Gully Boy universe.

While no official announcement has been made about Gully Boy 2, Siddhant added, “Ishaan started the Dhadak franchise and was brilliant in it. I hope my version lives up to that level.” This unexpected reveal has excited fans of both franchises, with many speculating about what such a crossover could look like.

Ishaan Khatter’s Work Front

Ishaan gained attention with his Bollywood debut in Beyond the Clouds and later stole hearts in Dhadak (2018) alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Ishaan also made his international debut in the US Netflix series The Perfect Couple opposite Nicole Kidman. He recently headlines for The Royals web series on Netflix released in May 2025. Now he is set to play a lead role in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, which premiered at Cannes 2025, marking another major step in his global career.
