Sonam Bajwa has disclosed that she turned down multiple offers from Bollywood since they included kissing sequences. According to her, this choice was not motivated by genuine conviction but rather by fear and self-doubt. Early in her career, the performer talked candidly about how she was hampered by cultural norms and her fear of being judged by others. He expressed her concerns about the potential impact of intimate sequences on her public persona and her relationship with her fans in an interview with Film Companion.

Sonam Bajwa stated that she was concerned about the way Punjabi viewers, who really admire her, would see her acting in intimate situations. He said, "I said no to a couple of things in Bollywood because I kept wondering, Is Punjab going to be okay with it? We have that mentality that families will be watching… I was very scared to do a kissing scene back then. I thought, ‘how are people going to respond to it? How will those who've made me who I am react? Will my family understand that it’s just for a film?’ I had all these questions in my mind."
