The post, allegedly from a source on the film's Sicily set, stated, "So I heard the tea from my cousin whose friend worked on the Sicily sets of Cocktail 2. they said there were major ego clashes happening. Apparently Kriti Sanon has got the meatiest part ala Deepika's in Cocktail while Rashmika's character is quite lovable which will give both of them popularity. Also the two girls get on like a house on fire and are very fond of each other."

The Reddit thread further claimed that Shahid Kapoor is struggling to accept a more understated role compared to Saif Ali Khan’s approach in the original 2012 film. The post read, "All this has made Shahid Kapoor insecure who believes he is rather playing a supporting character.
