Bollywood actress Deepshikha Nagpal recently opened up about her first professional interaction with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, sharing a mix of admiration and disappointment. Known for her roles in movies like Partner and Dillagi, Deepshikha was a newcomer when she worked with Shah Rukh on the sets of the 1997 film Koyla. While she was a big fan of SRK's on-screen charm, her excitement quickly turned into surprise when their initial exchange didn’t go as she had imagined.

Deepshikha Nagpal, in an interview with Instant Bollywood, shared how the moment unfolded. She said, “When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, ‘Do you know Deepshikha?’ He said, ‘She is a fantastic actress.’ Rakesh ji was very impressed with me. Shah Rukh said, ‘Yeah, let’s see.’ It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, ‘This is Shah Rukh. I love him.’ Then I took it as a challenge.” Despite the rude comment, she decided not to be discouraged and instead used it as motivation to prove herself.

Deepshikha also recalled feeling extremely nervous before shooting her first scene with Shah Rukh Khan. Although the scene was eventually cut from the final version of Koyla, the moment stayed with her. She shared, “I remember the scene. I can still smell his aura.” Over time, her relationship with Shah Rukh improved, and she came to know that he had recommended her name for the film Baadshah. She considers this opportunity a major turning point in her career.

Reflecting on her early struggles and SRK’s comment, Deepshikha said, “I said, ‘Thank you, Shah Rukh that you said let’s see’ because had he not said it, then maybe I wouldn’t be in that film.” She believes his behaviour, although harsh at the time, helped push her to work harder and prove her talent. The experience shaped her professional attitude and gave her the confidence to keep going despite challenges.

Since then, Deepshikha has continued to build a steady career in Bollywood and television. Apart from movies like Jaanam Samjha Karo and Baadshah, she has appeared in the web series Raisinghani VS Raisinghani and the TV show Ishq Jabariya.
