Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan starrer King, directed by Siddharth Anand, has been generating buzz for significant reasons, especially its casting. After reports suggested that Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor are part of the film. Jaideep Ahlawat has now confirmed his role in the movie. This marks the reunion of Ahlawat and SRK after collaboration in Raees. He revealed how the director was initially uncertain about approaching him for a brief role following his appearance in Jewel Thief, but Shah Rukh's involvement ultimately made it happen.

Jaideep Ahlawat, in a recent interview, confirmed his role in King's movie. He told Lallantop, “They’ve cast me, they had been thinking about this for a long time, based on the information I got. But I think Sidharth bhai might have been a bit hesitant because it’s a small part, and after Jewel Thief, doing small parts like this… Apparently, Khan sahab, being Khan sahab, said he’ll talk to me and who could say no to him?"

He recalled sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees and how he made him feel important whenever they met.

The actor stated, “I personally really like him. Our interactions, whether it was during the shoot of Raees, the four-day shoot we did together, or whenever we met after that, he’s an amazing person. He has this quality that makes everyone feel like they’re the most important person he’s met. Whenever we met, I always felt important, like I was the only one he was talking to. So when he said something like this, I said, ‘Khan sahab, I’ll do it, no problem."

He added, "We have discussed my work too, many times, especially during the shoot of Jaane Jaan, he's a very well-read person, extremely well-read. He has seen my work in Jaane Jaan, Paatal Lok, Three of Us and we have had conversations on them."
