Janhvi Kapoor's fan clubs have shared purported private chats that allegedly showed her voicing reservations about the production of specific scenes in Peddi long before the public scrutiny. The remarks appeared a day after the film's director, Buchi Babu Sana, issued an apology for criticism on how women were portrayed in the Telugu sports drama, starring Ram Charan.
Janhvi Kapoor was talking about certain sequences in the viral leaked chats dated October 30, 2025. She added that Ram Charan supported her when she refused to perform some parts in Peddi. In another alleged chat, Janhvi Kapoor made a notable comment about the film industry, writing, "This is how it happens in the South industry."
Janhvi Kapoor's fan club also referenced the criticism and trolling that Kiara Advani faced over Game Changer. Responding to the comparison, Janhvi Kapoor allegedly said, "It was even worse in this case, but Ram sir flatly refused."
When a fan asked why similar issues seemed to affect actresses working with the same hero, Janhvi Kapoor reportedly repeated that such situations are common in the South film industry. Expressing her frustration, Janhvi wrote, "You have no idea what I am going through. I am trying to reason with them."
Janhvi Kapoor added that some women bring their parents to the set, citing Sreeleela as an example. She said that things might get worse if her father, Boney Kapoor, came to the set.
Additionally, the actress pointed out that even when a 'close-up' is required, the camera is occasionally focused elsewhere; one just cannot trust the procedure. Janhvi Kapoor looked really upset by the end of the talk.
The conversations seemed to indicate that the director was the target of the concerns and that internal conversations on the character's visual representation may have occurred during production.

The purported conversations came to light as Peddi's portrayal of Janhvi's character, Achiyyamma, continues to draw criticism from viewers. While some viewers have questioned scenes regarding consent and agency, others have claimed that the movie concentrates too much on the character's physical attractiveness rather than her story development.
Pedd filmmaker Buchi Babu Sana also issued an apology and stated that he intends to change Janhvi Kapoor's sequences.
