Kang Seo Ha’s untimely demise has left the Korean entertainment industry in shock. The actress’ news of passing away on July 13, 2025, stirred a storm on social media, with fans pouring their hearts out for the Korean actress. Known for wonderful performances in Kdramas like First Love Again, Schoolgirl Detectives, Assembly and more, the star was dealing with a long battle of stomach cancer. According to a report in News Az, Kang passed away on the afternoon of July 13 after her health deteriorated during her second round of chemotherapy. Kang Seo Hu’s early life and education
Kang Seo Ha, born as Kang Ye Won, was a 31 years old actress, born in Busan on June 13, 1994. She was always passionate about acting and wanted to pursue a career in this field. Kang went to the prestigious Korea National University of Arts and majored in drama. Her love for cinema made her gain recognition for her appearance in the music video for Brave Guys’ Getting Farther Away in 2012.
Kang Seo Ha’s Acting career
The star made her acting debut in 2014 with JTBC's drama, Seonam Girls' High School Investigators, where she was seen playing a supporting role. With her versatile acting style, she played different roles in different genres and had built a strong work profile. She featured in shows like Assembly, The Flower in Prison, First Love Again, and Through the Waves, which gave her a boost of fame.

Kang Seo Ha’s subtle performances in Heart Surgeons and Nobody Knows brought her fame outside Korea as well. She was recently seen in popular dramas like The First Responders, Dark Hole, Possessed, and The Running Mates. Her final movie ‘In the Net’ had completed its shooting shortly before her passing and will be released posthumously now. The film features her alongside actors like Kim Seon-ho and Park Gyu-young.
Korean actress’ battle with cancer
The Kdrama star’s health was not in its best form. Though much was not revealed about her health, media reports stated that Kang Seo Ha was dealing with stage four stomach cancer. She was reportedly going through multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Her condition became worse and started deteriorating rapidly during the second round of her treatment
Her sister confirmed the news of her passing and shared a post on Instagram. "I still can't believe it, unnie. Even while enduring such immense pain, you worried about those around you and me. Even though you couldn't eat for months, you insisted on paying for my meals with your card and never let me skip a meal—my angel, who left us far too soon. Even as you endured everything with painkillers, you said you were grateful that it wasn't worse, and I felt humiliated. My dear sister, you went through so much. I hope you are only happy and free from pain where you are now!” she wrote.
