Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 21: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has continued its strong box office run, even as collections saw a small dip on Wednesday. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, the film is set in pre-colonial Karnataka during the rule of the Kadambas of Banavasi. It explores the intense conflict between the forest-dwelling tribals of Kantara and an oppressive king. The movie also stars Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, P. D. Satish Chandra, and Prakash Thuminad. Combining folklore, tradition, and mysticism, Kantara Chapter 1 has cemented its place as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema this year.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 9.85 crore on Day 21, showing a 16.17% decline from the previous day. Despite the drop, the movie remains a major success both in India and abroad, closing in on the Rs 560 crore net mark domestically. Its 21-day total now stands at Rs 556.75 crore. The highest earnings on October 22 came from the Hindi version, which brought in Rs 4.25 crore, followed by the Kannada version at Rs 4.1 crore. In just 20 days, the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara has amassed over Rs 760.5 crore in gross worldwide earnings, with around Rs 108.5 crore coming from overseas markets. The film’s wide appeal across languages including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil has contributed to its phenomenal success.

Meanwhile, in a fresh announcement, Hombale Films confirmed that the English-dubbed version of Kantara Chapter 1 will release globally on October 31. This move is aimed at tapping into the growing international audience and boosting its overall earnings. The English version will have a trimmed runtime of 2 hours and 14 minutes, compared to the original 2 hours and 49 minutes. With the ongoing buzz, this release is expected to add another strong wave to the film’s box office journey.
