When Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon was first released in 2015, directed by Abbas–Mustan and starring comedian Kapil Sharma, it marked his Bollywood debut. The Hindi-language comedy film surprised everyone with its slapstick comedy and charm, centring around a man who accidentally marries three women while juggling the one he truly loves. 10 years later, a sequel dropped in theatres, this time Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, amid the anticipation. Kapil Sharma returned with his new movie and showcased his signature comic timing, innocence and humour rooted in every scene. The sequel has been helmed by Anukalp Goswami and explores more chaos, more family drama, more weddings and this time four women around Kapil's character Mohan Sharma, who ends up with three wives- Ruhi, Meera, and Jenny, while trying to marry his true love interest, Saniya, making for a potential fourth. In the film, he navigates a multicultural maze of marriages and confusion.
When Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon hit the cinemas on December 12, it generated a split of opinions among audiences and critics, receiving a mixed reception. The 2025 release is blended with new layers, fresh characters and powerful performances by both returning and new cast members. Ahead of its release, the Kapil Sharma starrer generated significant buzz, but is the movie really worth the hype or just like other comedies?
Is Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Worth The Hype?
If you watched the 2015 film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, the sequel follows a similar foundation with almost a familiar storyline, though with interesting twists and turns. In the film, Kapil Sharma plays Mohan Sharma, a Hindu boy, who is deeply in love with a Muslim girl, Sania Hussain (played by Hira Warina). Despite opposition from their fathers due to their different religions, Mohan wants to settle down with Sania and get married. Kapil changes his name and agrees to adopt a new religion, becoming Mahmood, so he can marry Sania. However, things do not go as per his plan and he ends up marrying Sania’s sister Ruhi, played by Ayesha Khan. Her face was revealed after the wedding ceremony, as she replaced Sania as the bride, when the latter didn't want to get married.
Later, Mohan marries Meera (played by Tridha Choudhury), a woman chosen by his family. As he struggles to manage two wives, new circumstances lead him to marry a Christian girl, Jenny (Parul Gulati). The narrative revolves around Mohan juggling between three wives, while still searching for Sania. Late actor Asrani makes a special cameo in the movie as Father Anthony; his performance evokes nostalgia, especially since the veteran actor recently passed away.

Absolutely Terrible! 🤡
“Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2”
The story feels forced, the jokes are painfully recycled, and the dialogues are so cringe that even the actors look embarrassed saying them.
The performances? — No one could save this disaster.#KisKiskoPyaarKaroon2 pic.twitter.com/BvcWTplTVF

★★☆☆☆#KisKiskoPyaarKaroon2 starts off breezy with a few good laughs, but the humour dries up quickly post interval. The story keeps repeating itself, and the film drags far beyond its climax. #KapilSharma’s comic timing helps,… pic.twitter.com/Fw2dDV0OKu
