Don 3: It’s now official – Kriti Sanon will star opposite Ranveer Singh in Don 3. After weeks of buzz and rumours, Farhan Akhtar’s production house, Excel Entertainment, has confirmed this speculation. The much-anticipated action thriller will be directed by Farhan himself, who had also helmed the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don and Don 2 in the past.

The announcement came as part of a press release about Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming movie 120 Bahadur. The note stated that he is currently working on the preparations for Don 3, which is expected to begin shooting in January 2026. It also confirmed that Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon will play the lead roles in the film. The rest of the casting is still ongoing, with reports suggesting that the team is looking for a top A-list actor to play the film’s villain.

Originally, the makers had planned to cast Ranveer Singh alongside Kiara Advani. However, due to her pregnancy and personal commitments, Kiara decided to step away from the project. According to reports, she has chosen to focus on her personal life for the time being. This opened the door for Kriti Sanon, who was frequently seen visiting the Excel Entertainment office, sparking speculation about her involvement.

Meanwhile, Kriti’s recent Instagram post on Ranveer Singh’s birthday also hinted at the collaboration. In her message, she wrote, “Looking forward to working with you soon!” — further fuelling the rumours. Now, Excel Entertainment’s official confirmation has put all the rumours to rest. The confirmation of Kriti joining Don 3 came shortly after Kiara Advani and her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, welcomed their baby girl on July 15, 2025, at Reliance Hospital in Mumbai. While Kriti Sanon and Ranveer Singh’s pairing is fresh and exciting, fans are also curious about other possible additions to the cast. There have been ongoing rumours about Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra making cameo appearances in the new Don film, but nothing has been confirmed yet. As for the villain’s role, names like Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda were reportedly approached, but both turned down the offer citing the lack of depth in the character.
