Its the end of all the speculation about the female lead of Cocktail 2 as director Homi Adajania confirmed Kriti Sanon as the lead actress in the film. The actress’ name has been speculated for quite some time on social media. Now, the filmmaker has shared a picture of Kriti hiding her face and confirmed the news of casting. He also mentioned that the preparation of the film has begun. Kriti can be seen striking a cool pose while he face was hidden sticky notes, which read, ‘work in progress’. Homi captioned it, “@kritisanon #Thescicilianchapter #Cocktail2.”

Cocktail 2 is the sequel to the 2012 film of the same name, which then starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. The film remained to be one of the classic rom-com films ever since its release. Cocktail received well by the audience and also performed great at the box office. It had a box office collection of Rs 71.24 crore in India and Rs 121.78 crore worldwide.

As per reports, the sequel is likely to feature Shahid Kapoor in the lead role along with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. The filming began in August 2025 and is expected to be released in theatres in the second half of 2026. Luv Ranjan is the writer of the movie. More details about the film are awaited.

Talking about Kriti’s upcoming movie, she will be next seen in Tere Ishk Mein. It is one of the anticipated movies of the film, which also features Dhanush in the lead. The movie has been directed by Aanand L Rai. Other than that, there are also reports that claim that Sanon will also be seen in Ranveer Singh led Don 3.
