‘Kuch Hilega Nahi’: Surveen Chawla Reveals South Director Asked Her To Gain Weight; Opens Up On Casting Couch Experience

Surveen Chawla on casting couch: A popular name from the Indian film fraternity, Surveen Chawla has recently opened up in an interview with Hauterrfly about her personal experience of casting couch. Surveen revealed that the director was fully aware of her being married and still tried kissing her. She added, “I will tell you a tale about Mumbai’s Veera Desai Road only. After the meeting at his office cabin, he came to see me off at the gate, and this was after I got married. And the strange thing was that we talked about this in the meeting also, he asked me how it was going and what my husband did, and it was just us speaking inside his cabin because he had a big office. So, when I came to the door to say bye, he leaned towards me trying to kiss, and I had to push him back. I was startled and asked him what he was doing, and I just walked off.”

Surveen Chawla also spoke about how she lost roles as she was labelled as a ‘TV actor.’ After being questioned about the need for weight gain to land roles, she recalled a time when a South director asked her to put on some weight to attract the audience. “Yes, I was told you are too thin, slim because you won’t have bosoms. Kuch hilega nahi, nothing will bounce. Now it’s done a little more sophisticatedly. In my time, they were not so sophisticated. They told me to my face, so I gave it back to their face,” she added.
