Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: The much-awaited Ektaa Kapoor’s serial is back after around two decades with its sequel on July 29. The first episode featured the nostalgic introduction of Tulsi (Smriti Irani) and all her family members with the famous title track. The first episode begins with Tulsi being emotional while recalling memories of Baa and the moment she spent with her on the occasion of her and Mihir’s (Amar Upadhyay) 38th wedding anniversary. She says how difficult is to live without Baa. Like the previous season, members of Shanti Niketan and Tulsi's kids cannot function without her.

Tulsi was seen helping out her kids with daily chores, including giving towel to Karan and selecting saree for Nandini. Tulsi also interacts with Daksha, who has been shown as social media savvy. Tulsi can also be seen talking with her mother-in-law, Savita's spirit. She realises her mother-in-law is no more and gets emotional. On the other hand, Nandini (Gauri Pradhan) and Karan (Hiten Tejwani) help their mother to do the household chores. Then it focuses on Angad (Rohit Suchanti), who quietly enters his home after late night party. Tulsi catches him red-handed. She reveals how Karan, Nandini, Shobha and Hemant have shifted to different cities for work. They then assembled for the 38th wedding anniversary of Tulsi and Mihir.

In another scene, Mihir returns home after working out and goes straight to his room without greeting Tulsi for the anniversary. Gayatri chachi (Kamalika Guha) observes this situation and takes a slight dig at Tulsi. She tries to hide her emotions and her family uplifts her spirits. Tulsi then went to a place to cry out her emotions. She goes to the temple but get surprised with a brand new car as a wedding anniversary gift. Mihir and Tulsi spend some time together. He goes down on his knees and wishes her a happy anniversary. All the members of the family are elated to see Mihir’s surprise for Tulsi. Gayatri fumes with anger and urges son Hemant (Shakti Anand) to step up and take charge. He shuts her and said that he looks upto Mihir and Tulsi. Hemant further mentions that he has no intention of replacing them.

On the other hand, Mihir and Tulsi have three children, Paridhi, Angad, and Ritik. Paridhi is in secretly in love and often neglected in the family. Angand defends Tulsi that Paridhi is someone who has always been fair and loving towards all. Gayatri wants Tulsi to go through pain. The first episode ends with Tusli praying for the happiness of everyone.
