Alia Bhatt is one of the top actors in Bollywood, who has carved a niche for herself despite being a star kid. She has showcased her phenomenal acting prowess over the years since her debut in 2012 with Student of the Year. Her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, praised her for being a self-made actor. He revealed how Alia continues to astonish him, both as an artist and as a person. Not only that, he also shared what her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, thinks of Alia. Mahesh contrasted their personalities and described the Ramayana actor as 'laid-back' by nature.

Mahesh Bhatt in a recent interview on The Himanshu Mehta Show podcast, praised his daughter Alia and the way she has proved herself and reached success without any support from her. He said, "I’m very happy she’s a self-made girl. Alia has astounded me! What is unique about her is that she has a taste for taking risks, and she’s taken detours into diverse narratives. Alia has gone through an alchemical change after she became a mother. I see a new depth in her. With this young girl becoming a mother, there’s a coming-of-age of a different kind, a different kind of maturity in her."

Admitting that he didn't know she had so much passion for acting, the producer stated,
"I didn't launch Alia Bhatt. Karan Johar launched her. I didn't know she had so much thirst for acting in her. She gave the audition herself. I just got to know they loved her work. I was shocked because I hadn't seen any such traits in her, even remotely. I'm very happy she's a self-made girl."

In the same interview, Mahesh Bhatt contrasted Alia Bhatt's ambition with Ranbir Kapoor's Laidback Nature. He also shared Ranbir's thoughts on her drive and ambition for work.

"He (Ranbir) says, ‘Alia is made of different stuff.’ When I ask him, ‘What do you mean?’ he says, ‘Her ambition to do more and more and more is unbelievably astounding!’ While he’s a person who’s very laid-back and comfortable, he just wants to do enough. She’s a go-getter," Mahesh added.

After dating each other for a short period, Ranbir and Alia exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in 2022. They welcomed their first child, daughter, Raha, in November 2022.

Besides off-screen chemistry, the duo has impressed audiences with their chemistry in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva. Ranbir and Alia will share screen space again in Love And War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal.

Besides this, Alia also has the action film Alpha, co-starring Sharvari, while Ranbir, on the other hand, is gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, in which he will be seen playing the role of Lord Ram alongside Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey.
