Acclaimed Marathi singer and actor Rahul Deshpande and his wife, Neha Deshpande, have decided to part ways after 17 years of marriage. Known for his contribution to Indian classical music, Rahul is also the recipient of a National Film Award for Me Vasantrao. He announced the shocking news of separation on social media. The couple, who have kept their personal life private, shared the news with close friends and family before making it public. The actor requested understanding and respect for their privacy and decision during this time.

Rahul Deshpande Announces Separation From Wife Neha

Rahul Deshpande took to his Instagram handle and shared a long note with the news. His post read, “Dear Friends, Each of you has been a meaningful part of my journey in your own way, and that’s why I want to share a personal and important update with you. I have already shared this news with some of you. After 17 years of marriage and countless cherished memories, Neha and I have mutually parted ways and continue our lives independently. Our legal separation was amicably finalised in September 2024."

Revealing why he took so long to share the news with his fans and followers, the actor stated, “I chose to take some time before sharing this update to process the transition privately and to ensure that everything was thoughtfully managed, especially with the best interest of our daughter, Renuka at heart. She remains my highest priority, and I am committed to co-parenting her with Neha, with unwavering love, support, and stability."

He urged everyone to respect their privacy. "While this marks a new chapter for us as individuals, our bond as parents and the respect we hold for each other remain strong. I truly appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy and decision during this time," Rahul added.

Who Is Rahul Deshpande?

Born on 10 October 1979 in Pune, Maharashtra, Rahul Deshpande is the grandson of the legendary singer Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande. Recognised for his musical talent, he has received several awards, including the National Film Award, Filmfare Awards Marathi, and Maharashtra State Film Awards for his performance in Me Vasantrao. Beyond singing, Rahul had also portrayed the lead role in the films.
