Aditya Chopra is the producer of Mardaani 3, which carries on the franchise's tradition of grim, socially conscious narrative. The third installment addresses another sinister and urgent social issue, while Mardaani examined the gloomy realm of human trafficking and Mardaani 2 probed the unsettling mind of a vicious serial killer.

Rani Mukerji, Janki Bodiwala, and Mallika Prasad feature in Abhiraj Minawala's Mardaani 3. The story follows Shivani, played by Rani, as she looks into the disappearance of ninety-three young girls over the course of the last three months. 2014 saw the release of Mardaani, the first feature film directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The director of Mardaani 2 was Gopi Puthran.
