On the other hand, Aashiqui was jointly produced by T-series and Vishesh Films. Along with Anu Aggarwal, the movie also starred Rahul Roy in the lead role. The movie’s soundtrack was composed by Nadeem-Shravan and was a chart-topper with songs like ‘Dheere Dheere Se’ and ‘Nazar Ke Saamne’ turning into instant classics. Following her debut film, Anu also acted in other movies such as Ghazab Tamasha, King Uncle, and Ram Shastra. However, her rising career came to a sudden halt after a devastating car accident in 1999. The crash left her in a coma for 29 days, and she never returned to acting after recovering. Her last movie appearance was in the 1996 thriller Return of Jewel Thief.

Anu Aggarwal also shared her insights on the film industry in the interview, revealing that it was heavily influenced by the underworld at the time. She said, “It was a dirty business. Today, I’m not in it. If I do a film now, I can tell you how dirty it is compared to back then. At that time, it was all under the table. It was ruled by people like Dawood Ibrahim. All the money that came into the industry came from the underworld. So it was a completely different scenario."
